High Point Cross Country Ski Center

   Cross country ski center features 15 km of groomed trails, 6.5 km with snowmaking equipment, 8 km snowshoeing trail, kids trail, and handicapped trail. Lodge with fireplace, food and beverage. Ice skating on Lake Marcia. Lessons; guided tours; equipment sales and rentals available including baby back ­carriers.
Sat & Sun
      Group lessons at 10, 12 & 2pm. Private lessons at 11 & 1pm. Call for weekday instruction. Nordic Kids xc ski program for 12 yrs. and under.
Feb 5
       Ski Fest, free learn-to-ski lessons on the hour (ski equipment and trail fee not included), music, special foods and free guided xc ski tours at 11 & 1pm. 10am-2pm.

Somerset County Park Commission Environmental Education Center

Five miles of relatively flat trails are open from 9am-5pm when conditions permit (more than 4 inches of snow on the trails). Staff members set tracks in fresh snow, bring your own equipment.     Half-day sessions for all programs cost $90 daily. Guests skiing at Shawnee for several days can opt for multi-day program packages, with a three-session package for $225 and a five-session package for $325. Helmet rentals for Children's Program participants are $8 per day. Reservations are required for all children's programs.
