P
erformances under "The Arts" category may be specifically geared to young children or their subject matter may appeal to children and family audiences. Many are full-length -productions with discounted student rates, suitable for older children or teens, but not appropriate for young children. Parents must use their discretion in determining their child's readiness for a -theater, music or dance performance.
The Arts Council of the Morris Area (973-258-5115) and Arts Council of the Essex Area (973-744-1717) publish com-plete arts calendars each quarter. Subscriptions and other benefits are available with membership.
Calendars for many venues are not available until mid- -summer for the new season. Call individual venues for their schedules or go to the "Hot Picks," "Music &Dance" or "Theatre" pages at www.kidsguide.com for convenient links to websites.

NJSO FamilySeries-Stories Through Music
The young and young-at-heart will discover the magic of story-telling with three timeless tales told through music during this Saturday matinee concert series.
